The 11th edition of the LatinArte Festival: 30 days of celebrations in Montreal

Crossings, music and the guest of honor: Mexico

The 11th edition of the LatinArte Festival offers a renewed vision that represents the recent transformation of the Latin American artistic community and their artistic practices.

Traversées (crossings) is inspired by the action of crossing a space, going through a cultural practice adapted to the needs of today, in line with an art linked to the increasingly dynamic socio-cultural and technological reality.

The program Traversées offers an overview of the manifestations of interculturality in Montreal. It proposes many activities that question the disciplinary or conceptual boundaries within the arts. It also presents multicultural activities, which constitute an account of recognition through plurality of perspectives.

The 2019 edition is a new starting point for a reflection more interested on the complete inclusion of cultural diversity, intangible heritage and the recent history of the society of Québec in a context of globalization.

This year's LatinArte Festival will take place in October, as the City of Montreal has declared it the Latin American Heritage Month.
