Call for the Montreal LartinArtists

LatinArte invites the professional artists from Montreal originating from Latin America or having drawn their inspiration there, to submit a complete file in order to participate in the annual programming of the festival that will take place from September 7 to October 4, 2017.

LatinArte is looking for original creations of intercultural character which create an interaction with the LatinArte public.

In visual arts

All the proposals of contemporary art, photography, painting, sculpture, engraving, drawing, short and feature films.

In the performing arts

Projects in dance, theater, music, song, multidisciplinary arts and performances.

In Spanish literature

Writers, poets and storytellers are eligible.

Selection Criteria

  • The relevance of the works must be registered within the mission of LatinArte, which is to encourage the contemporary art of professional artists of Latin origin working in Quebec;
  • Artists from Quebec whose work is inspired by Latin American culture are invited to send their projects;
  • Artists must be residents of Quebec for more than two years;
  • The work must be original;
  • The work must reflect the mastery of the technique used.

The file must include

  • Complete information of the artist (name, address, telephone number, e-mail address);
  • A recent artistic biography;
  • Documentary Evidence of the artistic approach;
  • Audible or visual documentation of the work (a maximum of three photos, videos or sound tracks), accompanied by a descriptive list (artist name, title of the work, year of implementation, the technique used and discipline).

Visual Documentation

  • Digital Photography: digital images in JPEG format, resolution of 300 dpi.
  • Each file received is analyzed by the group of LatinArte experts.
  • Incomplete files, PowerPoint presentations or links to the website of the artist will not be accepted.
